Let’s first dive into the meaning of self confidence.

Confidence can be defined as a belief that you are capable of excelling at anything you put your mind to.

When you have high confidence, you believe that you are capable of successfully completing tasks and projects.

I believe that self-confidence skills keep us motivated to go an extra mile in all aspects of life, be it work, family, and in our personal relationships but the lack of it sometimes leads to stress, and possibly an increased likelihood of depression to a point where you are not thriving in life.

Luckily, self-confidence skills are not something we are born with, but rather a learning process that needs practicing and boosting every day.

I needed to overcome my fear of failure in order to start this blog and for many years I thought I wasn’t ready for my thoughts to be read by other people, due to fear of being seen as vulnerable but I needed to work on boosting my self confidence skills and let go of fear in order to maximize my full potential.

Trying some of these actions to improve your ability and self-image can help in boosting your self-confidence, which in turn will increase your productivity and performance. Your mind is the limit.

It has to start within you, you have to choose to be happy, remain optimistic regardless of what life throws at you and having a willingness to do the necessary work to put your life back on track.

One way to build your self confidence skills is to start writing your positive affirmations on a note pad or sticky pad and placing them somewhere visible. Failure in life is necessary and it can help in boosting confidence by using it as stepping stone to learn to let go of expectations of excellence and becoming comfortable with failure.

We all fail at many things every day, but if you have to be willing to learn and improve.

I think what happens to most of us that when we fail, we feel incompetent and get disappointed with ourselves and the situation. In the process, we loose our confidence.

One way to build your self- confidence skills is to look at failure as part of growth and maturity. It is crucial to understand why you failed and what you can change and do differently next time to avoid a similar situation.

Always ask yourself: “How can I use this lesson in a meaningful way to help me move forward in the right direction ?”

For example, You might have made some bad business decisions that cost you tons of money, instead of beating yourself up, maybe its time to set back and look at why you made certain decisions and what would have changed your judgment. Then, focus on finding ways of educating yourself not to make the same mistakes, different ways on how to be productive and creative so that you get to generate more income to cover up your losses.

It is also great to realize that running a successful business is tough. Therefore, you have to focus on what will move your business forward. Once you do this, the next bump in the road will not be hard to maneuver.
