8 Simple Daily Habits That Will Motivate You To Accomplish Your Goals

In this blog post, I am excited to address the daily habits that will motivate you to accomplish your goals. These are simple habits I have incorporated into my life and have changed my life for the better.
One of the hard lessons I have learned on my growth journey is that you can set goals all you want, but you may not accomplish those goals until you pick up good habits.
Having goals is necessary for creating a better future for you or your loved ones, but habits are the pieces in your life that shape who you are or who you want to become.
Your habits affect your level of success at work, in relationships, and how you vision your future.
And since our lives are built around habits that we form along the way, it is essential to develop great daily routines that will motivate you to accomplish your goals and be successful.
Simple Daily Habits That Will Motivate You To Accomplish your goals
Here are the 8 life-changing daily habits that will motivate you to accomplish your goals in all areas of your life.
Start Each Day With a Purpose
It is important to always find time alone in the morning and plan your day. Decide to wake up 30 minutes earlier to take a walk or sit by yourself, clear your mind, and envision your day.
Set your day priorities and know what you need to accomplish for the day.
Starting each day with a purpose is about choosing want needs to be done today or tomorrow; find out why and how you will get it done.
For example, I have come to realize that I am more creative in the mornings. It’s the little things that pop up in my mind while taking a walk outside as I smell the fresh air and seeing nature.
Having this quiet time before any distractions helps me get creative, and I feel happier and more in tune with my inner self.
I also recommend reading Celestine Chua’s blog posts about personal growth. In one of the posts, she mentions that “Most people today are so caught up in so many things that do not make a difference in their life. Having a purpose helps you see immediately which goals are important and which aren’t vs. your long-term life path”.
It’s essential to start the day with steady momentum and energy. Practicing this daily will help you focus on what is important and will motivate you to accomplish your goals.
Sleep Routine That Works For You
The main reason for sleep is to maintain our sanity and stay efficient and productive. You don’t want to wake up grumpy, screaming at the whole world, hating everyone and everything around you just because you did not have enough sleep.
According to a Harvard Business article, a review of 86 scientific studies found that people with good sleep routines tend to sleep longer and are more active, efficient learners.
They have a more remarkable ability to keep their minds engaged.
Do you notice that if you don’t get enough sleep focusing on anything becomes almost impossible?
Your job performance lowers, having intellectual conversations becomes hard, and you are more likely to get aggravated.
So how do you create an amazing sleep routine that will motivate you to accomplish your goals?
- Try going to bed every night at the same time that accounts for at least 6 hours of undisrupted sleep. Set the alarm to remind you about your bedtime.
- Turn off any brain-stimulating activities that might prevent you from getting sleepy.
- If you love taking naps as I do, take shorter naps for about 30 minutes but not after 7 pm
- Caffeine is excellent for boosting your energy during the day. But taking it a night is risking your sound sleep. So avoid it at all times.
Have a Positive Mindset
What makes success more attainable to some people but not to others?
A positive mindset does!
Why? Because having a positive mindset is a goal by itself. If you can practice it every day, you are in a better position to feel motivated to achieve other goals.
It is hard enough going through rough patches in life, but if you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, smile, and let nothing drag you down, then you have a superpower, my friend!
You become unstoppable when things get hard along the way instead of giving up.
“One small positive thought can change your whole day.” – Zig Ziglar
Your mindset will leave no room for negativity to boost your confidence. A positive attitude helps you accept your mistakes and, in the end, learn from them.
When you have a positive mindset you start working harder even if you don’t expect to get much in return. Carrying on this mentality each day will help you feel motivated to accomplish your goals.
How can you be positive every day?
- Say positive affirmations each morning
- Avoid complaining when things don’t go your way.
- Find something to be grateful for each day
- Surround yourself with supportive and positive-minded people
Schedule Your Day With a Planner
Before I started using a planner, I would ultimately feel overwhelmed with all the things I had to do in a day. I quickly forgot about important deadlines, forgot about bills that I had to pay on specific days, and important business phone calls that I was to make.
This made me feel less motivated and less productive because I failed to set aside specific times to work on things.
So what is it about a planner that made such a huge difference in my life where I started feeling accomplished rather than overwhelmed?
Using a planner is the best and effective way of managing your 24 hours in a day while staying productive and motivated to progress as you check things off your list.
You get time to plan for vacations, set aside time for family and friends, enjoy your me-time as you also stay on top of your goals.
I buy a year planner at the beginning of each year to plan out each day of the 12 months. I then write down all my short-term and long-term goals and prioritize, starting with the more critical to be accomplished within a year.
So then I make sure that all the chosen year goals are written down on the first page of the planner so that each day when I open it, I get to remind myself why I decided to get on this journey and how I will achieve them,
The next step is to ask yourself;
What actionable steps do I need to make this year that will get me to achieve those goals?
What other necessary changes can you make to improve your life?
Start breaking down your actionable steps into monthly, weekly, and daily goals, starting with priority tasks.
By setting specific tasks at specific times, the planner will save you time because you get more important things done without wasting time doing other things.
Track Your Expenses
The purpose of a budget is to help you achieve your short-term and life-term financial goals, and this budget needs to be adjusted whenever your plans change.
Your budget should be reviewed once a month to evaluate whether it works or needs to be adjusted. This helps to ensure that your income is allocated in the best way suited to your goals.
However, tracking your spending should be done daily. One way to keep track of your daily expenditures is using a budget worksheet.
Use the worksheet to add your daily expenses to get a clear picture of what you spend monthly vs. what you earn.
Practicing this daily and knowing you’re spending and saving options will guide you to make better financial and Motivate You to accomplish your goals.

Find Your Greatest Sources of Inspiration
Many people wake up each day with one reason to go to work and take care of their bills. They wake up only to get paid.
But is it driving success?
Not really because you are not living, but just existing.
So, what motivates me to think creatively?
Is it reading a book, quiet time, or listening to your favorite podcast? Is it helping others or doing something you are passionate about?
It is necessary to find inspiration every day because dreams and goals have their bumpy spots. The process gets tedious and difficult, making it hard to accomplish anything.
But it would be best if you continued going even on the tough days.
For example, there are days when I don’t feel like putting in the time and effort o write a blog post because I am usually exhausted from my full-time job. So I find myself postponing from one day to the other.
But what inspires me is knowing that what I write will be helpful to someone out there on their growth journey. Other days I listen to motivational podcasts to remind me of why I started this blog.
Another way to feel motivated to accomplish your goals is to set aside time to celebrate your achievements. There has to be some joy in what you’re doing every day; otherwise, you won’t want to do it.
Start a Spiritual Journey
Are you practicing what you preach? What have you done today that supports your beliefs?
Having spiritual beliefs and practicing them every day helps you find peace in the things you put your energy into and the relationships you build with other people.
As a Christian, praying and reading the bible helps me value all the people in my life and place my energy in areas that are in line with my values.
It also encourages me to have hope and faith that everything will be well in due time no matter what I am going through.
So it doesn’t matter what you believe in. It could be praying, meditating each morning, or before going to bed.
Incorporating this into your daily habits gives you the push and hope to not only rely on yourself to accomplish your goals and dreams but ask for guidance from a higher power.
Be consistent
“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.” – Dwayne Johnson.
Being consistent is being committed to your goals. Most people achieve success because they can set their mind to do something and have the action to follow through.
To succeed with your goals, you should have the “never give up “mentality even when the conditions are so unfavorable.
You should be consistent even when you don’t feel like it because you will be happy that you pushed through your uncomfortable moments.
Whether you set goals for growing a business or starting a new career, losing weight, saving for retirement, you reach your dreams by being consistent every day and making progress towards your goal.
Practicing these life-changing daily habits will motivate you to make your goals happen one day at a time. Promoting a change in habits and behaviors is a proven long-term solution if you want to accomplish your goals and see lasting results consistently.

Hello Natashja
I definitely agree with you! Sleep is crucial in my daily schedule because it helps with productivity and improves my thinking patterns.
Great tips! Some are definitely more challenging than others for me – like not watching my screen before bed. Love the idea of tracking expenses every day. I definitely that’d be empowering!
Emily,
These tips can be applied differently, watching TV at night can be challenging if you find it relaxing while to others it might be a distraction. However, research shows that watching TV interrupts your sleep and stimulates your brain. so I encourage yo to try reading a book which is less stimulating
