Boosting Your Self-Confidence and Motivation

Just believe in yourself. Even if you don’t, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will.

– Venus Williams

When our confidence is high, we not only feel better about ourselves, but we are more robust, and less exposed to anxiety and depression.  I do believe self-confidence keeps us motivated to go an extra mile in all aspects of life, be it work, family, and in our personal relationships but the lack of it sometimes leads to stress, and possibly an increased likelihood of depression to a point where you are not thriving in life.

Luckily, self-confidence is not something we are born with, but rather a learning process that needs practicing and boosting every day.

I needed to overcome my fear of failure in order to start this blog and for many years I thought I wasn’t ready for my thoughts to be read by other people, due to fear of being seen as vulnerable but I needed to work on boosting my confidence and let go of fear in order to maximize my full potential.

Trying some of these actions to improve your ability and self-image can help in boosting your self-confidence and motivation. Your mind is the limit.

Positive Affirmations

My priority now more than ever is directing my life around positivity and self-love through positive affirmations.  Sometimes you are all you got and if you don’t believe in yourself, who will? It has to start within you, you have to choose to be happy, remain optimistic regardless of what life throws at you and having a willingness to do the necessary work to put your life back on track.

Build your Confidence With Failure

Failure in life is necessary and it can help in boosting confidence by using it as stepping stone to learn to let go of expectations of excellence and becoming comfortable with failure. We all fail at many things every day, but the more failure you encounter, the more you are willing to learn and improve with promptness and effectiveness. It’s part of growth and maturity.

Try Things Out of Your Comfort Zone

Resistance to trying new things is caused by fear. As human beings, we enjoy our routine behaviors because it creates a low risk environment and offers both mental and physical security for us. However, how can we be better and improve our lives if we keep doing the same thing over and over again? We must be fearless, be creative and be willing to step of out comfort zones by starting with simple things like stopping to procrastinate and working on that one thing we kept pushing aside.

We are all on a journey to better our lives and It is possible to boost our self-confidence and motivation if we go about it the right way.

Let me know about your journey to improving your confidence.
