Success comes in different forms and is different for each one of us. How to Be Successful in all areas of your life?
I will go into details about the 5 tips I am using on my road to success but first, we have to define the meaning of success.
What is success, and what does it mean to you?
Most people will define success in terms of how much money is saved up in their account, their level of education, how famous they are or how many investment properties they own.
But this is just a few of the things that define success. We all have different upbringings, different education backgrounds, different beliefs , values among other things. So being successful will have different meanings to each of us.
Personally, I define success as getting something you want that produces reasonable rewards for you. We each have a unique vision of real success, and that idea changes over time.
I came across this Harvard Business article that resonated with me and believed it would be great to share some of what I took from it.
According to their research, longtime success involves four-components that include Happiness, Achievement, Significance, and Legacy.
Happiness is the feeling of content in life and Achievement is something you have accomplished.
Significance is when you produce a positive impact on others’ lives, and legacy is forming a story that will help others find future success.
These four areas in life are unique to each of us. These can be manifested in a marriage, relationships, work, health & fitness, wealth, or anything you consider your purpose.

How To Be Successful and Manifest The Life You Want
1. Have a Vision
A vision is a mental picture of the result you want to achieve. Why is it so important? Because vision drives action.
Ever wonder why all organizations or businesses have vision statements that describe their purpose, what the company is striving for, and what they want to achieve?
Visions are not only crucial for businesses but for you as well.
Having a vision helps you know what and, more importantly, why you are doing the things you are doing.
According to John Graham, Your vision should be clear—so sharp and detailed that you see, smell, and taste the smallest details.
Your vision should be positive and a projection of where you see yourself in the next 1 year, 2 years, or 10 years.
You might not know exactly who you want to be in the future but know who you are right now.
What is your definition of success? Where do you want to be in the next year, 5 years or 10 years?
This will help you strategize and give you more clarity on who you want to be in the future.
Having a vision helps you create a practical guide for making plans, setting goals and objectives. It also useful in making decisions that help you become successful in areas you are focusing on.
So start with a vision when looking for ways on how to be successful. This is your moral compass to getting where you want in life and manifesting your plans or dreams into reality.
2. Identify What Brings You Happiness and Why It Is Important To You
You are reading this post because you want to know How to be successful. Right?
Ask yourself, what do I want to see changed, and why is it important?
To be truly successful, you must be happy as well.
It is vital to accept who you are first and acknowledge that happiness already exists in you before you start searching for it in other places.
Many times we get caught up other people’s definition of success, only to find out that having a certain amount of money or becoming famous is not fulfilling.
There is nothing wrong with basing your happiness on material things like having money, a lovely home, or driving a fancy car. However, this type of happiness will not last and will not be fulfilling because you will end up wanting more and more.
This is why you should start with the free happiness that already exists around you. Make a list of everything in your life that is totally priceless, like friendship, kindness, nature, the air you breathe, and family.
From free happiness, identify what else is important to you. Write down what you want to accomplish in life that will make you happy and why. What are your passions? What kind of legacy you want to leave behind.?
Choose what career you want and the type of company you would like to work for, and why. What business would you want to venture into, and why?
Knowing what is important to you, and why, is one step closer to a successful life.
3. Find Out What You Are Willing To Sacrifice
Achieving a goal requires hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. But to avoid making the wrong sacrifice, you need to first figure out what is important to you.
Some people are willing to sacrifice spending time with their kids or families. Some offer their leisure time to work on side income projects.
But if a family is essential to you, then sacrificing this time with them will only bring you unhappiness instead of a feeling of accomplishment.
“He who would accomplish little must sacrifice little; he who would achieve much must sacrifice much; he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.” ― James Allen.
The hardest part of success is not the hard work it takes but choosing what to sacrifice. You have a goal of saving a certain amount of money. You must be willing to cut back on your spending, not go on vacations, and maybe rent a cheaper apartment you are less comfortable living in.
Sometimes your goal requires a lifestyle change. If your goal is to lose 10 pounds in 6 months, you have to let go of unhealthy eating habits.
Going back to school for an MBA program required sacrificing most of my weeknight s and weekdays to study instead of spending time with my boyfriend.
In my decision to complete the program in 2 years, I am enrolled in classes all year. That meant classes in Spring, summer, fall, and winter, leaving me with less time to engage in any social activities and less personal time.
The road to success is not easy. It is full of ups and downs, but, in the end, it’s what you gain out of the process.
Evaluate the risks and the reward before you make a decision.
If you make the right decision, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel that may seem hard to get to it, have the confidence to know you can do it and just keep working towards it.
4. Improve Your Daily Habits
Improving your daily habits is another way on how to be successful.
What are you doing today that is leading you closer to your goal?
Goals will seem impossible for many of us only because we fail in the daily areas of our lives.
Starting with your mental and physical health, If you are not happy with who you are today and are not willing to change for who you want to be tomorrow, success will be far from reach.
Let’s start with the simple daily stuff like wellness habits. What are you feeding your body to become more productive? Food directly impacts your performance, which is why poor eating habits can disrupt your work the entire day.
You cannot expect to work 8 hours a day and be productive if you have a burger for breakfast each morning. So changing your eating habits will make you feel better and focus on what needs to be accomplished.
Next is changing how you are spending your time. Most of us want to watch Netflix, sleep, and play video games in our free time.
I am not discouraging you from taking time off to do whatever you enjoy. Still, it’s key to add some personal development time as well. Try reading a motivational book each month.
Listen to an entrepreneurship podcast in the morning as you get ready for the day. Maybe Meditate or do some sort of exercise 30 minutes a day.
Spare a few hours a week to learn a new skill. You have so many free resources out there now that can help with your personal goals.
You will be amazed by how a small change in your daily habits goes a long way on the road to success.

5. Be willing To Step Out Of The Box.
To be successful, happy, and contented, you must challenge yourself to take daring and bold actions to go for what you want.
The question to ask yourself every day is: “What am I willing to do today to step out of the box?”
Your box is your comfort space. Everything around you that is making you comfortable, good or bad, is your box.
“Very successful people don’t seek comfort; they seek success and are willing to do what is most uncomfortable. If you want to get to the next level of your business, you’ve got to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.” – Grant Cardone.
All the career choices I have made have been daring actions from my end because change is scary and uncomfortable due to the fear of the unknown.
After I graduated with a Finance Degree, no experience, but I needed a job and exposure to get to where I am today.
So I applied for an Investment Analyst position in a commercial real estate company and convinced myself that I was qualified and, if given the opportunity, would learn the skills that were required.
The starting salary was far less than I wanted, but I knew the skills I could acquire from this job will lead me to the next bigger opportunity.
I was not thinking about the “now.” I was merely projecting where I wanted to be in the next couple of years.
I ended up getting the job and wouldn’t have I had not stepped out of the box.
I worked for 9 months for a Real Estate company and applied for an accounting Job in an International logistics company. Still, I was walking on faith since I had no employment background in Logistics.
Fast forward to where I am today. I am working for Bank in a position I am thrilled with and consider as one of my most significant accomplishments.
And this is just the beginning.
All this to say, there is no reward without risk.
Spread your wings and fly as far as you can go. Yes, you will have some scary moments; It will be uncomfortable, but worth it.
So I encourage you to put yourself out there and go for what you want; Find out what makes you happy and amazing things will happen.
